Canon Powershot A640? Personal experiences?
My Canon Powershot A640 is in the mail and I was wondering how you would rate this camera? I’m looking for personal experiences, battery life, shutter lag between photos, etc. Thanks!
I am someone with some photographic experience and knowledge. I am not a beginner. I paid $300 for it.
I exclusively use NiMH rechargable AA batteries and always have.
You can read my answer to the question just above this and see that I recommend the A640 very highly. My son has the A620 and my brother has the A630. Both are very satisfied with their cameras. There is _some_ shutter lag, but you can use a continuous mode or sport mode or turn off the LCD and it helps this quite a bit.
As Consumer Reports said, battery life seems to be excellent. I’d say it is about twice as good on batteries as anything else out there. My son doesn’t even bother with rechargeable batteries, as he finds that the e2 Energizer lithium batteries last quite a long time, even taking a lot of video.
